Stefanie Unruh's project is titled "Innocence of the landscape - an archaeological investigation." The photographs of Josep Planas depict an innocent and prosperous tourism. But the landscape is never innocent; it carries historical connotations. Based on the photographs from the Planas Archive and her own research and photographs, Stefanie Unruh makes visible the layers of hidden history in Mallorca, particularly the presence of German immigrants in the 1930s, the collaboration of the Nazis with the Nationalist uprising, and she also locates historical sites of the Spanish Civil War in Mallorca, such as the landing of Captain Alberto Bayo of the Republican Army.
