Always on Display is a video performance that questions staging, gender role representation, and stereotypes. Silke Schwarz’s scenes reveal the artist’s intense process of immersing herself in archival material. The video shows moments in which the female body is displayed, stereotyped, and turned into a projection surface for our gaze.
