Organism | Art in applied critical ecologies is an experimental applied research program promoted by TBA21 –Academy y Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. The initiative intertwines critical thinking, situated research, and speculative practices through case studies developed in partnership with cultural, academic, and civic entities.
The organization starts from the hypothesis that practices in which artists promote interdisciplinary projects can constitute a form of infrastructural activism, capable of going beyond critical reflection to activate tangible processes of territorial, social, and ecological transformation. To this end, Organismo proposes testing methodologies and interconnections, collaborative practices, and configurations of actors between institutions, communities, and governance frameworks to give rise to prototypes that can influence reality and its material conditions.
