Photography Festival program 2024

This year, the 18th and 19th of October we present a program of activities around expanded photography and tourism.

FRIDAY 18/10

5 pm. Session of the open collective research group COSTA: Photography and metadata. with Burak Korkmaz.

6.30 pm. Presentation and tour of the exhibition Cameraless with the artists Laia Ventayol and Burak Korkmaz from the program «Goethe auf Mallorca 2024».

SATURDAY 19/10

6 – 7.30 pm. Training ‘Gutting the photobook’ with Toni Amengual (limited places). Click here for the detailed training description.

7.30 – 10 pm. Exhibition Cameraless, curated by Marina Planas and Alelí Mirelman of the results of the 2024 residency projects.

8.30 pm. Live action by Burak Korkmaz. Sonification of his research data.

6 – 10 pm. Open Studio de Casa Planas: muestra de Barbara Hofmann, Juan David Cortés,  Juan Miguel Bauzà, Marina Wagner, Kenneth Nava, ac.Eka.z, Maitak, Rebeca Arte Creaciones, Leire P. Dezcallar, Rojo Mehndi, Joana Leal, Carmen Arbós, Federica Furbelli and Radio Cultura.

Esment
(18/10) 10 am – 12 pm. Carrer de Femenies, 30, 07013 Palma.
Visit the Molins Social Club, an Esment center open to the community to generate connections and contributions. It is a resource for residents where activities and experiences will be shared between different people. 

CEF Audiovisual Arts School

6 - 9 pm. Plaça de Barcelona, 17, 07011 Palma.
In this exhibition, you can enjoy various photographs covering multiple disciplines, such as fashion, nature, documentary, architecture, and more. Under the guidance of industry professionals, all the works have been done by students of the Curso Profesional de Fotografía and the Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Iluminación, Captación y Tratamiento de Imagen of CEF Escuela de Artes Audiovisuales. In addition, there will also be information about the courses, among which you can find training in photography, film, music production, and others! The exhibition is a great opportunity to appreciate the students' artistic development and dedication.

7 Lope de Vega
6 – 10 pm. Carrer Lope de Vega, 7, 07013 Palma.
An Artist-Run Space with artists Nieves Guri (textile collage, painting), Marion Deracourt (ceramics), and Thomas Perrotou (painting). In their work, contrasts and similarities are intertwined around technique, color, and form, alternating between the bucolic and colorful works of Thomas and Marion and the processual and sober of Nieves' work.

CA’N CUIR
4.30 pm - 1.30 am Plaça de Barcelona, 2, 07011 Palma.
Ca'n Cuir was born as a transversal and cultural project that seeks to promote and move the LGBTI+ group and queer culture in the Balearic Islands. A space where all the decoration seeks to deepen the collective's roots, it has a small reference wall and a small library of specialized literature. There also is a constant program of talks, workshops, or dialogues focused on understanding and deepening LGBTI+ issues to create a community and collective space. There is a small temporary exhibition area, where are presented artistic expressions that vindicate the LGBTI+ group and their particularities or problems.
